Club Welfare
Blackwater Triathlon Club are committed to creating a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for every member of the club. We want all individuals, both junior and adult to feel that the club is a comfortable environment to take part in and train for triathlon and multi-sport events. Our welfare officer, coaches and all those required by British Triathlon hold a current and valid DBS certificate and have undertaken safeguarding training.

If you have any concerns regarding the welfare of any individual you can report it as below;
Do you have concerns or have you been told about a possible or alleged abuse, poor practice or wider welfare issue?
This should be reported to Blackwater Triathlon Clubs welfare officer Chris Mathlin on chrismathlin@me.com or 07721 338045
If Chris is not available for any reason you can contact the club Chairman Jack Garwood on 07929 934581. If you cannot contact either of the above the next option is Triathlon England lead safeguarding officer 07384 214726 / 01509 837137 / concern@britishtriathlon.org
Is the individual you are having concerns about in immediate danger, require medical assistance or you believe that there is a crime being committed?
If so you should call the emergency services on 999
If the matter is regarding a child it should be referred to Essex Council’s children’s social care team at Essex council on 0345 6037627 (9am-5pm) or 0345 606121 (out of hours) and inform Triathlon England lead safeguarding officer 07384 214726 / 01509 837137 / concern@britishtriathlon.org
